No source.  Various news channels are reporting it.  Wikipedia has yet to be updated.

Wow.

Rumors so far:

- They have the body
- It was done by "boots on the ground," not airstrike.
- It happened in Pakistan

I feel weird about the whole thing people are singing my countrys national anthem because someone is dead. I understand what he did and how horrible it was but celebrating just seems odd to me

It's understandable.  Many of us here are against the death penalty.

Bin Laden was given the death penalty.

Without a trial.

And many innocent people were killed in the process of trying to capture him.  That wouldn't be acceptable had he been an American citizen.

I'm talking about the war in Afghanistan and the attacks in Pakistan in general, which were carried out under the guise of capturing Bin Laden.

Despite the fact he was a bastard, the idea that really, no matter what, America can always find you and track you down is something that I think is quietly upsetting

This story was posted 5 days before his death:

Al-Qaeda terrorists have threatened to unleash a "nuclear hellstorm" on the West if their leader and world's most wanted terrorist Osama bin Laden is nabbed.

A senior al-Qaeda commander has claimed that the terror group has stashed away a nuclear bomb in Europe which will be detonated if bin Laden is ever caught or assassinated, according to new top secret files made public by internet whistleblower WikiLeaks.

Nothings going to change, whether he was alive or dead. It's just going to be a bit entertaining watching Cameron come up with reasons for why we're staying abroad. Everyone over here legit thinks it was to get Bin Laden, so they now cannot understand why everyones not coming home lolol.

Yes. The coverage of Bin Laden's death did, in fact, interrupt last night's episode of Celebrity Apprentice.

don't really see any reason to celebrate, obviously bin laden was no longer an effective boogeyman so he's been taken out, now is just the wait and see time to find out who the powers-that-be put in his place to scare the sheep of america into being submissive. nothing ever changes in this blood thirsty, war mongering, uneducated, uninformed country.  granted i'm a bit annoyed and angry at the moment after getting crap all day from a couple of friends and some co-workers about my lack of patriotism and unwillingness to celebrate.

"I mourn the loss of thousands of precious lives, but I will not rejoice in the death of one, not even an enemy. Returning hate for hate multiplies hate, adding deeper darkness to a night already devoid of stars. Darkness cannot drive out darkness: only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate: only love can do that"
