Green Day have always been a very important band to me and I still list them as one of my favourite bands of all time. But this album is such a disappointment to me. It has some gems which show where Green Day could be for me, some songs that don't really elicit a response either way, and some that are just plain awful. A real mixed bag of results in my opinion; and some of the lyrics are atrocious.

I think it's extremely good. I'd give it like 9/10.
I've been listening to them since Kerplunk (got it from my cousin like 6 months before Dookie came out), and... I don't know... it's hard for me to stop liking a band I've grown up with.
The only song on that album I do NOT like is "Last Night On Earth"... every other song though, I love.
I'll probably be in the minority liking that album, but whatever. I'm not gonna lie about it.

I wholeheartedly agree with the Green Day review and I've listened to that album quite a few times. Half of it is worth listening to, but some of it is awful.

Man, they really oughtta put "out of five" under the ratings. Most album reviews are out of ten these days (or if they use 5 they at least use stars or something), and it really makes them look negative. 21st Century Breakdown deserves lower than a 2/5 though. That album takes everything bad about American Idiot and lumps it in to a cheezy mess for the rich kids to sing along to on MTV.
