The Plausibility of God--The Debate Rediscovered Under New Parameters

14 August 2012 - 07:09 PM

Atheism, in it's truest form, is the absence of belief in God with the assertion that no debate exists considering the claim is not falsifiable and adequate evidence does not yet exist, thus the issue is not worth debating or even considering. Which is why atheists often respond mockingly to the religious. Atheism is not the belief that there is no God, although some foolish illogical pseudo-intellectuals will often make this claim. Thus, atheists could be said to believe that God's existence is not plausible. So implausible that they essentially, but not actually, say "there is no God" in the same sense that there are no "flying spaghetti monsters". Although an educated atheist realizes that absolute knowledge of a negative is impossible. Thus, for theists, pantheists, the esoteric, and gnostics to re-open the debate which atheists have been winning since the time of Nietzsche and Darwin, we have to make the argument for the plausibility of God rather than the existence of God. Thus, I present to you, Jason Innes's argument for the plausibility of God:

1. There exists a biological function that explains religious and spiritual experience.

2. This biological function is accessed by entheogens--notably DMT.

3. The brain is an electromagnetic transmitter and reciever and not a self-contained source of consciousness.

3a. Furthermore, consciousness is created by the sum of the brain's internal processes, the sensory data it recieves, and the frequencies it gives off and recieves which in turn influences it's processes.

4. Prophetic visions and dreams can only be explained via the release of DMT.

5. Many world religions have origins in use of entheogenic plants and substances.

5a. Shamanic religions engaged in ritual use of ayahuasca which contains dmt, peyote which contains mescaline, and the magic mushroom which contains psilocybin and psilocin.

5b. The Eleusinian Mystery religion of greece references substances which appear to be entheogenic in nature. Notably the mysterious substance Kykeon. It was a wine of sorts made of barley, which ergot grows on, and in combination with alcoholic fermentation it likely synthesized LSH--a weaker form of LSD. This was taken after a day-long sacred fast, common practice to empty the digestive tract to allow effective absorption of an entheogen. This is the only susbtance that could explain the phenomenon experienced while under the influence. Pythagarus, Plato, and Socrates were initiates in to the mysteries and this could explain the knowledge they recieved which was far beyond their time.

5c. Abrahamic scripture contains reference to psychedelic use:

And when the dew that lay was gone up, behold, upon the face of the wilderness there lay a small round thing, as small as the hoar frost on the ground (16:14). And when the children of Israel saw it, they said one to another It is manna: for they wist not what it was. And Moses said unto them, This is the bread which the Lord hath given you to eat. - Exodus

And Moses said, Let no man leave of it till the morning (16:19). Notwithstanding they harkened not unto Moses, but some of them left of it until the morning, and it bred worms and stank: and Moses was wroth with them (16:20). And they gathered it every morning, every man according to his eating. and when the sun waxed hot it melted...(16:21). - Exodus

One Sabbath Jesus was going through the grainfields, and his disciples began to pick some heads of grain, rub them in their hands and eat the kernels. 2 Some of the Pharisees asked, “Why are you doing what is unlawful on the Sabbath?”3 Jesus answered them, “Have you never read what David did when he and his companions were hungry? 4 He entered the house of God, and taking the consecrated bread, he ate what is lawful only for priests to eat. And he also gave some to his companions.” 5 Then Jesus said to them, “The Son of Man is Lord of the Sabbath.” - Luke

"Truffles are part of the 'manna' which Allah, sent to the people of Israel through Moses, and its juice is a medicine for the eyes." - Muhammad

5d. The aforementioned is reference to psychedelics. Moses references magic mushrooms, which come "from the sky" with the "morning dew" and is a "small round thing". Like magic mushrooms, the Manna rots within a day. Muhammad's reference is also obviously the magic mushroom and it also confirms that is what Moses was referring to. What Jesus referred to was ergot growing on the tops of grain, which is the ingredient of the consecrated bread (consecrated is to commune with the sacred).

Conclusion: DMT and entheogens are the only source for these prophetic visions, and given the brain's radio-transmitter like nature, this could be a plausible explanation for how humans connect with God. On the contrary, this could also explain religious experience as a chemical induced psychosis. Thus, the plausibility of God is the only thing proved logically.

In order to prove the existence of God, one would have to take this information and subsequently go out and seek personal experience of the omnipresent intelligence we label God. Thus, the only proof for God is direct contact with God and this proof cannot be transmitted orally or in writing.

However, this argument also forces the atheist to accept the plausibility of God, and thus must redefine their position as agnostic. Atheists would argue that there is no adequate evidence for God and thus it's absurd to consider logically, but the agnostic must admit they are unsure one way or the other. There is no reason to believe that it is a delusion over an actual vision from God.

With this information, you either know or you don't know. You're either a gnostic or an agnostic.

Thus, the atheist position is effectively demolished and no longer a rational position to hold. Only the agnostic position is rational at this point as there does exist adequate evidence (but not proof) for God.

If one were to read this argument and learn this information and remain an atheist, their position would be as irrational as the blind belief of the common religious man (and it's my contention that most religious people do not actually commune with God in a deep, meditative fashion).

The debate is officially opened once again.

I'm white and totally ashamed of it

13 August 2012 - 06:30 PM

White people are responsible for the most heinous instances of imperialism, racism, capitalism, genocide, and war. We are also responsible for the bastardization of the Christian religion and the current world order.

I'm fucking ashamed to be white. I wish I was black so I could be a proud person without unfair privilege.
