Pieces of cloth that cloak like daggers.
Material that is immaterial to our humanity.
That divides us but never unites us.
Patriotism is nationalism is Jingoism.
As long as we identify by country we will
never know who the other is."
what exactly does the line "pieces of cloth that cloak like daggers." mean? i don't understand the connection of cloak and dagger.
dagger is sth like a sword, to cloak means hide?
or does it come from "cloak-and-dagger" what according to the dictionary means mysterious?
the moment i lose my hope i die
pls correct writing mistakes ;) ------- [?] means that i'm not sure how to write something.

You've pretty much got it. It doesn't make any literal sense (to me anyway), seems more like it's just wordplay for wordplay's sake.

But those are mostly long-term effects and hardly anyone cares about what is happening in ten years.
is "will happen" ok?
Additionally, besides anti-smoking advertising, there is....
comma or not?
They know about that, and still they profit from addicts.
there's a sign that could mean "2". does he mean, i shouldn't write "they" twice?
They do not care about their "casualties'" lifes.
probably something really easy, but i don't get it
While governments are rising the taxes and sponsoring educational programs about the dangers....
is it "raising"?
On the other hand, you also effect other people's lifes with smoking near them.
is it affect?
the same again...
....of tobacco companies who make profits....
what is better "which" or "that"?
inhumane or inhuman treatment?
don't get me started on ....
what can i write instead of that?
thx

Don't actually know what's wrong with that. The other two that I left out I'm uncertain about, I'll let some of the natives help you.

In formal written English you shouldn't abbreviate words.
They're should be they are
Don't should be do not
Shouldn't should be should not
Etc.
Life is only a dream and we are the imagination of ourselves.
Did you know that dolphins are so smart that within a few weeks of captivity, they can train people to stand on the very edge of the pool and throw them fish?

[it's out of red lights flash's lyrics: "direct action gets the goods, but all our efforts can at best be seen as a lubricant to the process. and then it's shown how even so-called liberal parties are jumping on any bandwagon once they become aware that existing arrangements are crumbling. and this encourages you! this encourages you!...". for me here it looks like it's meant like "direct action is great", but on the t-shirt it's connected with another sentence of the lyrics "direct action gets the goods. at least this satisfies you but it kills us!" and above it is a tank. so that seems to me like defining "direct action" as done by the military. not sure about this, though. so, can you help me?
