which one is the american/british version to pronounce either? iether or aither [sry. i don't know how to type that. hope you get it...o.O]

wtf means d.u.i. [or something like that] if it's one a sign next to a highway and crossed out?

is there a difference between freeway and highway, 'cause we translate both with the same word?

does "x-ing" mean crossing?

I've been wondering the same thing about "either". Is it ee-ther or I-ther? Or just whichever you happen to like more?
Obviously "neither" is just as weird.
<recursive>  If being an idiot was illegal, it would probably be easier to keep the criminals outside the jails and use them as fortresses.

I say ee-ther, but I'm a Canadian, and I probably shouldn't be trusted.

1. Whatever sounds best in context or whichever you usually use.
2. DUI = Driving Under the Influence. Driving while intoxicated or high, etc.
3. Freeway means an interstate or a highway with no intersections. It's a term generally used in urban areas.
4. Yes. PED XING means Pedestrian Crossing.

i always change it. my last teacher said ee-ther, the teacher in ireland said ee-ther too, my former teacher said i-ther...hmmm...

I have never seen a "No DUI" sign ever. I kind of assumed it was such common knowledge that drunk driving is illegal that if we had to put it on signs, mankind has officially devolved into monkeys.

i thought it was special traffic rule or something like that. but we couldn't figure out what ^^

ah there was another sign, something like "no shoulder" or so. also on the highway. do you know what that means?

The shoulder is the side of the road. The sign probably said something like no stopping on the shoulder or shoulder for emergency stopping only.

Technically, the law is (at least were I live) that you have to pull over to let ambulances, firetrucks, police cars, and for some reason funerals pass you.

Generally on the interstate if there's an accident, everyone is stopped for miles. The shoulders or the medians are usually the only clear areas. The pull over thing is mainly for in urban areas.

Usually you see those phrases on a scale of how much you would recommend something, going from 1 to 5, 1 being the lowest. For example:

5 - Strongly Recommended
4 - Recommended
3 - Neutral
2 - Would Not Recommend
1 - Would Strongly not recommend

Strongly recommending means that you feel more passionate in recommending the item than just recommending. To put it another way, you would Strongly Recommend your favorite movie to your friend, but you would just Recommend a movie that you thought was only decent.
