My view on socialized health care in the US is that it isn't happening right now.
What Obama is pushing for is not even close to single payer. Claims that Obama is socializing health care is just right wing propaganda.
I support single payer.

Socialized Healthcare I do believe in but this isnt the right time, I their needs to be a lot of government money spent on this and obviously the government does not have it now do to Bush's fucking 6 Trillion dollar war. So yes I want it and No it wont happen anytime soon.

I don't live in the US, but after finding out how much it actually costs to go to the doctor and that you actually have to PAY for it yourself, even I want socialized healthcare in the US. It's just unbelievable how much all of it costs. I never really appreciated not having to worry about that until recently.

Well as far as I know, you don't have a very good health care system in the US, but here, the tragedy is that we have a relatively cheap health care (although according to the constitution it should be absolutely free) but now two conservative anti-socialist, anti-communist right wing parties most probably will form the new government, and when that happens sooner or later they are going to privatize all hospitals (because right now 90% of the hospitals belong to the state), and then they will do the same with the schools and... this is not a very good prespective

Universal Healthcare should really be top of the list of most important things to the so called land of the free.

How would it be exploited? You go to the hospital or to a doctor when you are sick and need treatment; that is not exploiting the system that is getting help when you need it.

Well, I myself am a Socialist/Communist, & I hope you don't hate me for that because really there's been a huge smear campaign for years trying to make Socialism/Communism look bad by comparing it to the leaders that BETRAYED their people & their system by using capitalism in the mix with their fascist corporate rulings. But the point is that, as a socialist, I believe that a Socialized (single-pay) health care system is the best way to go. Obama is clearly no where near going down that road & intends to stay that way. It's obvious that they don't want it since they even censored Obama's former doctor on ABC when it came out & said that Obama is doing it all wrong & that we need a single-pay health care system NOW!
