Yes, that is one of the Windows Media player 9 skins, and Yes, I am torrenting Microsoft Office XP, it runs great on here as well, I even have speech sysnthisis and recognition.

Browser- Internet Explorer 6.0:

Firefox 2 works perfectly, but regerettably IE6 is much faster, but what fun would it be not displaying some weird error? IE2 is also installed, but only my website works in it.

To those of you who say that the color scheme is wrong, I happen to like the Windows XP color scheme, It is in use on nearly all of my computers, exept those running XP, ironically.

I finally got my mom's new laptop fixed. Her user account is all default and shitty, mine has all kinds of awesome hacks to it. The main one is the fact that I have a Windows XP theme and Functioning Program Manager (though it is sort of buggy in 64-bit windows)

and TPU...

The last nail in the coffin for the online homework system we use at school, not only are the pages poorly coded with tons of iframes but their proprietary testgen plugin works flawlessly under Windows NT 3.51:

It installed to c:\plugins instead of the Firefox plugin directory, but that was not a real problem. it even created the program manager group instead of throwing some error about the start menu not existing. the installer uses "Firefox" and "Netscape" interchangeably as if someone did a poor job updating the installer. if I had a hacked version of flash player to report itself as 10 instead of 9 then their whole website would probably work in NT 3.51 under Firefox 2.0.

I am not going to take my math test under NT 3.51, though because the keyboard has a tendency to stop working randomly. XP fully supports the new hardware of my laptop and does not have this problem, and I don't want to take any chances.

Also, as I may have mentioned, last week my 20" CRT secondary monitor on my laptop died. I have tried functioning with only one monitor, but now it might have caused me to fail a math test, so I went and got the 17" crt off of my server compueter. it's not great, but until I can get a 20" replacement, it's the best I can do.

Yes, it is sitting on top of an old empty computer case, the monitor has no pedestal under it slants forward and downward. it was hard to see siting flat on the desk. it sits on top of my server computer all the time.

Yes, it's sitting on top of an old CD-ROM drive, I had gotten used to the bottom of it being a certain height off my desk, and that added to it's stand was exactly the same as my old monitor.

The background does change, but I have no control over it, it shows half music you actually have and half random album covers from the internet, also if you have album art embedded in the id3 tags of your files, then the metro ui media player ignore them and downloads the wrong information from the internet. it only seems to use the embedded id3 images if there is nothing to find on the internet.

While, on my new tri-boot computer, Windows 8 has yet to live up to expectations, eComStation is a rousing success!


THIS IS 2010 TECHNOLOGY AT IT'S BEST! Actually, most of eComStation is just OS/2 Warp 4, 1996 technology!

Also you cant watch MPAA copy protected DVDs in Windows 8 unless you have video cards that don't have s-video or VGA output.

We have anti piracy warnings but they're usually quite short. If you tried to skip at all during the adverts before the title screen came up the American DVD I had put you right back to the FBI warning (I've no idea if this is normal or just that DVD),

Lawer adverts here are mostly of the "have you been injured at work" type, nothing too scary.

also windows 8 media player took all my high resolution .jpg album art images I had in all my music folders and made them 200x200 and did not even bother to keep the scaling right it took me months to get all those working. fortunately it did  not fuck up the embedded album arts.

EDIT:
I found a way to easily fix this, by copying all the .jpg files from my music backup:

xcopy m:\*.jpg "d:\floyd\my documents\my muisc" /s

(M:\ is the network drive of my music backup on another computer.)

EDIT AGAIN:
And then found a way to delete all the other wmp droppings like the 50x50 "albumartsmall.jpg" and the other pointless ""albumart{crazy random numbers}.jpg" files as well as thumbs.db with this:

attrib -h -s *.jpg /s
attrib -h -s *.db /s
del AlbumArt*.jpg /s
del thumbs.db /s

Most of the problems I point out are things that Microsoft did on purpose though. and I fix them with Command Prompt, and it is evil, Microsoft has been trying to kill it since Windows 2000.

No, I need to build my own operating system that is not garbage and take down Microsoft. they say linux is better it is not, macs are overpriced and under-preforming, OS/2 relies on porting shit from windows and Linux, (but native OS/2 programs are awesome!) Windows NT 3.51 really is the closest thing I have seen to a perfect operating system.
