He's correct actually. Even ignoring the fact that he knows a lot on the subject.
You could also go for a walk/run or if you have a bike or can borrow one you could ride that? Swimming, if there's a pool near you?

I guess walking or running would be a good idea. But I don't have a bike (my parents gave it to my nephew) and have no one to borrow a bike from. Swimming I also can't do because I don't have a pool and there really aren't any pools in the area, I don't like public pools anyway.

Climb trees, fences, etc. Run. Do bodyweight exercises (pushups, ab exercises, pullups). If you have some cash there's small equipment that can help you do more exercises with just bodyweight (http://www.fitnessanywhere.com/ is good, but wouldn't recommend dropping the coin on it until you know you're serious about your regimen).
Go to work; send your kids to school;
follow fashion; act normal;
walk on the pavement; watch TV;
save for your old age; follow the law.
Repeat after me: I am free.

"Tree climbing is good exercise. Tree climbing is not only fun, but it's also an excellent workout. Though it's not nearly as demanding as it appears, climbing is great exercise for the arms and legs. Climbers work many muscle groups they often don't use elsewhere, and climbing is also great for the spine. The extra bonus to this exercise is that it is stimulating and never boring."

Seriously climbing trees is a full body all round workout. It will improve your strength by having to pull yourself up using only arms and legs and will get your heart beating very fast. Plus the best thing about it is it's great fun and all natural movements so you don't to learn how to any complex gym machines or whatever.
There are tons of things you can do to improve your fitness without any equipment as the gibster rightly said walking and running is probably the first and best option. You say you have a wood near you? go for a walk around them a few times and climb a few trees on the way (
). You can go swiming in a river. Do you have a wheel barrow in your shed? fill it up with anything you can find, don't make it too heavy and just walk around for a bit with it then rest a little bit and do it again a few times. Tons of calisthenics you could do. Just type "bodyweight circuit" into google and you will find many examples of workouts using only bodyweight movements. You know what the squat is? if not click here. Just practice those every other day and try to eventually to get to one hundred repetitions with out resting. Set smaller goals first like 20, then 30 then 50 and so on and so on. The posibilities are endless and Im not kidding.

I know some kids who dabble in it. Parkour is based heavily on it, but I have never personally done any of it. But yeah I figured you would like it. Its based off of like six movement types: Lifting, throwing, running, climbing, fighting, and swimming.

I would love to go train in Brazil with Le Corre. Check out his video (must watch in HD).
