Hello, my name is Liz. I just recently found out about Anti-Flag. I'd never heard anything like them before, such amazing music with such a powerful message. My first reaction was to go out to HMV and buy all their Anti-Flag CDs and listen to them all, my second reaction was to check to see if they have a website. Which brought me here. I'm excited to meet new people. I hope to become a positive memeber of the community. Let me know if there's anything I can do to help out with anything, I'm usually online everyday.

I hope you all have a wonderful day,

take care,

-Liz.

Hey Liz, glad you like the band.  Nice to meet you.  ^_^
I'm PRG/Poofah, and I ran http://peacepunk.net for nearly 5 years before being promoted to the official Anti-Flag website. It's nice to meet you all! I will be administering this forum alongside Anti-Flag and the A-F Records crew.

Usually when new people join, I assign them a bunch of homework in the form of new bands they need to listen to, but then they never come back so I am not going to do that this time.

Hello! Welcome to the forums!!!

Welcome newbie. You've never heard anything like Anti-Flag before? If you like them you should check out every other punk band in existence, it's pretty much the same!

Really? With all the same politcal messages and everything? I had no idea that the Punk genre would be so similar. Interesting.

Since Floyd doesn't want to give you any 'homework', I'll suggest the following bands which A-F fans tend to like:
Strike Anywhere
Rise Against
Leftover Crack
Propagandhi
Against Me!
The Unseen
Moral Dilemma
Random Hand
Jaya The Cat

Thankyou also for all the suggestions. It's always nice to have new bands too look into. I wake up early in the morning, like 6am, and I have to stay quiet for a few hours because I share a bedroom, so it gives me something to do on the internet in the mornings. Much appreicated.

This is so not true. If you were talking about Anti-Flag songs, I'd totally agree. Recycled riffs, recycled lyrical themes..Ugh.

Okay, I exaggerated. Punk is generally a very samey genre though.

Yeah, that's a good song. Also, the included YouTube video directly in you're message is much appreciated. Thank you.

I have never heard of the last 3 bands. Well, actually I have listened to Random Hand once (probably because of Sammy) and holy shit they are so fucking bad. They're like Deez Nuts level of bad.

But Propagandhi and Strike Anywhere are amazing.

Seems to me that every British member in the history of this forum has been a Moral Dilemma fan, yet they get absolutely no exposure over here.

I don't know, punk is a pretty vague term. As a genre, it encompasses a lot of different styles, some of which sound nothing alike. It varies according to time and place.
For example:

Sounds nothing like:

According to Google Nevous Gender is "very similar" to the Screamers. Have you heard of them? Maybe you will like them as well.
