This is too important to be in General Discussion, so I am putting it in politics because discovering the Higgs Boson completes the Standard Model of Physics (as we know it) which is basically the biggest thing to happen since General Relativity.

Not exactly, but it's the closest thing we have found so far. most people agree that it is the Higgs Boson. it's like 99.9999% certain or something.

If it's not the Higgs Boson it is something very similar that we were not even looking for, and that is still reason to celebrate.
