Sum 41 is the band that got me into punk. I love everything they done. The vocals, music, lyrics are just great in all their albums. Never got to see them live though but maybe one day.  Any fans here?

when me and my friend James went to stay sweet fest, we listened to mostly this band and generic top 40s radio. rad times.

I never really listened to them all that much in the first place, the band that got me into punk was Green Day, and that was just when American Idiot came out

Stay Sweet Fest was just last month! We went in my mom's truck (long story) and the only CD I brought was Maps by Mixtapes. He got some CDsfrom his house, and we listened to several. About 6am, in the middle of nowhere North Carolina, he put in All Killer No Filler. It got stuck in the CD player (I eventually got it out, but the cd player no longer works) so it was that or radio. The only stuff that would pick up was country or top 40s stuff, so we listened to popular mainstream music, "it's like junk food, there is nothing good about it, but you can't stop listening" now whenever I hear some popular song on TV I remember one of the best weekends of my life!

rad times.

I like Sum 41. :) Not as much as I used to, but I still like them. Their older stuff is the best though.

The band that got me into Punk was Rise Against (who I despise now, but still am thankful to for getting me into Punk and still respect everything from Sufferer and The Witness and before.

the sound changed a lot, that's true. but i still think they have some good messages and songs. (i still like their old stuff more, though...) i just generally don't like their fans so much. what exactly do you mean with sold out? general, message, label, etc? or just altogether

Changing the style of the music doesn't mean they sold out (King Blues or Sum 41). It's not like they went from playing stuff that was unpopular and then changed to a trendy style. Blink 182 could be accused of doing that but I just think it was more of a natural progression.

So? People started talking about Rise Against and i don't see you getting pissy with them? How comes? Please inform. I make one comment, yet multiple 'off topic' comments on rise against are ignored.
Get annoyed with something being off topic for a single post but don't get annoyed when your forum is filled with transphobia and hate comments. cool.
