So, I was watching The O'Riley Factor (only because I heard there was going to be something about YouTube. I hate Bill and everything he stands for.) and there was a part talking about obscenity in public and what police can/can't do. As a woman was talking about how police can pull you over if you have something obscene on your car, they showed a car with a bumper sticker that said "Fuck the flag and fuck you." and carried the gunstar. The woman continued to say how police have the right to make you remove anything like that if it they, or someone else, feels it's beyond freedom of speech and offensive to them.

So, what do you guys think about this. Is it too far? Should the police be allowed to do this? Is this freedom of speech or is this just plain distasteful?

I watch Fox News quite a bit.  It helps me understand the "other side", so to speak.  So when my dad calls I understand that he's just been watching too much Glen Beck or Hannity... getting a woman's point of view from Ann Coulter, or patriotic advice from Michele Bachman.  Watching Fox also keeps me forewarned about what kind of insane or absurd things their viewers might say during the course of a conversation- keeps my WTF? face to a minimum.

As far as the bumper sticker goes...

If I have to look at "Jesus Saves", and "Never drive faster than your guardian angel can fly", they have to look at "fuck you".  It's only fair.

I have the "gun star" painted on each side of my car.  I also had the "fuck the flag and fuck you" sticker on my old car.  I wasn't hassled about it, not to say i wasn't hassled about other things.

I have several "offensive" shirts/hoodies and have never had any problems wearing them in England. Was once walking down the street in my "Fuck Google Ask Me" hoodie and got a bit paranoid when I realised some police were looking at me. After I said to my friend it was a good thing they didn't tell me to take it off as underneath I had my Black Flag t-shirt on saying "Make me come cop"!

Did you know that dolphins are so smart that within a few weeks of captivity, they can train people to stand on the very edge of the pool and throw them fish?

I find this offensive in that it equates what Bush did to the systematic slaughter of millions of people.
The only way to deal with an unfree world is to become so absolutely free that your very existence is an act of rebellion.
