Americans Abroad, Gibby.

What's with all the hate for Clarity?

1. Re-inventing Axl Rose
2. Searching For A Former Clarity
3. As The Eternal Cowboy
4. New Wave
History is not something that happens to people--it is the activity of people. Culture does not dictate human behavior--it is the sum of human behavior. Technological progree is not a force of nature, either.
There is no civilization without civilizing, no capitalization without us capitalizing and capitulating.

Clarity is their weakest album. There is nothing really memorable, at least for me, on that album other than Joy.

Thanks :) I've got the vinyl but couldn't be bothered reaching over about 2 feet to the left.

The Disco Before the Breakdown (I know it's basically a single, but it's nine minutes of pure heaven)

Reinventing Axl Rose
Crime
Acoustic EP
As The Eternal Cowboy
Americans Abroad!
Searching for a Former Clarity

New Wave

TDBTB is head and tails above the rest, just like New Wave is so so sooooooo below everything else.

I have the acoustic EP as well, but I feel like it's too short to really compete with the others.  Still better than "Searching For A Former Clarity" though.
I'm PRG/Poofah, and I ran http://peacepunk.net for nearly 5 years before being promoted to the official Anti-Flag website. It's nice to meet you all! I will be administering this forum alongside Anti-Flag and the A-F Records crew.

This is off topic, but did anyone hear about Against Me's private show they had not too long ago? Apparently the only way to have gotten a ticket was to test drive a Kia... "Baby I'm an anarchist and you're a spineless liberal"? Fuck, I drive a 95 Chevy Geo... I guess I'm a spineless liberal on this one.
*Note to self beware of potential Kia owners, may be crazy anarchists*..

Fuck kids who use acronyms that are more than 4 letters long.
The only way to deal with an unfree world is to become so absolutely free that your very existence is an act of rebellion.

I love Against Me! Not so much New Wave but I'll still listen occasionally, it's just a progression in their sound, you can't just keep churning out the same music album after album. I really like Tom's solo stuff too.
As for them selling out, well, it doesn't bother me as long as I can still appreciate their music. However, my bf's band used to tour with AM! and he was good buddies with Tom (when I say "good" I mean they used to email daily and talk on the phone every week or so) and he said once they signed to the new label he could never get through to Tom anymore and he wouldn't personally respond to his emails. When he contacted them on their Myspace someone from the record label responded saying Tom didn't want to do another tour with Benny's (my bf) band. So Benny gives me shit for listening to AM! now, apparently lots of the kids in Prince George (bf's hometown) burnt all their AM! stuff. Burning bridges, hmmmmm
uh. that really sucks.

That song is just awkward.  They don't offer any other solutions, so it comes across as very pessimistic.  They're hurting the movement they helped build.  :mellow:

Somebody should tell them that it's pretty common for young people to give up their ideals and compromise with the system when they get older.  It's not really something to brag about or be proud of.
Go to work; send your kids to school;
follow fashion; act normal;
walk on the pavement; watch TV;
save for your old age; follow the law.
Repeat after me: I am free.
