Although there wasn't much traffic in the old "In the media" forum, now it's a bit annoying to search for certain movie/tv show threads in General Discussion. They get so easily lost and overlooked in there.

...and I suggest to delete them regularly.

Also, it would be nice, if the suggestions in this thread got some attention from time to time. Updates on the progress of the oncoming changes would be nice, too. At the moment it really feels, as if everyone had pretty much abandoned this place.

But apparently what the current active members are contributing is not enough to make this place interesting again. And I don't think, that's only because there are simply not enough active members at the moment. Sure, it would be a lot easier, if we either got more new people or if some of the old members came back. But it would also help a lot, if the folks who hang around here regularly put a little more effort into their contributions and I'm including myself into this as well.

Soooo seriously though, what's the deal? I've been trying to keep tabs on this place the last week or so but the most I've seen is maybe one or two other people online at the same time.....And PRG....Does he read this thread or is it just completely abandoned? Isn't he getting paid for this?

A lot of the old regular members left, not enough new people joined and the remaining folks are too few or too occupied with other stuff or too lazy to keep the forum alive.

Floyd mostly blames facebook, PRG blames marriage and John has bookmark issues.

Oh, and once in while an old member shows up, points out that the forum is dead and leaves again after a couple of days. And now it's up to you to end the vicious circle.

Hey everyone, some of the suggestions will be implemented in the coming weeks here, and there will be more updates to coincide with various releases that are coming up.  I believe a "big push" is required to get newer members to stay around, and what better time to have a big push than before the release of a new album?  So you're going to see a lot of changes in the near future.

I actually have no power at my place right now, because for whatever reason, the power company here is quite incompetant.  So I've been relying on library computers, which are very slow and don't have the tools I require.

Soybot, I don't get paid to run the forum--I get paid to do other things for them--some which are made public, and some which are not.

I'm very unlikely to bring back the media forum, but nothing is impossible I suppose.  If you've been here long enough, you'll know that this sub-forum was actually the newest sub-forum, and when I added it, I got complaints that it was unnecessary.  So maybe it will just take some time to adjust?
