The Status Updates is superior to the shoutbox in every way now. Why do we need both?

bc you can only see the last 3 posts in the status updates and you can have two comments in there so if you comment on something and then someone else comments no one will no what they are taking about.

This red box bothers me, make it go away, turn it black or something so it blends in.
Also, when you put the mouse over the "post" or "save changes" or "Submit modified post" button, it does this:
