From Punknews:
Notorious comedy website Something Awful has set its sights on Anti-Flag in the latest of their Garbage Day features. Author Andrew Miller took the band to task saying:
"Anti-Flag communicates its revolutionary angry-liberal fervor by placing the word "fuck" in front of the many societal ills to which its heroic members feel passionately opposed: "Fuck Police Brutality," "Fuck The Flag," "Fuck The Pope." "Fuck Police Brutality" might be the most useless of Anti-Flag's "Fuck Something" songs, because there's no vocal advocacy for that cause. Police officers who enjoy brutalizing must be discreet about expressing that preference
Anti-Flag combines kids' music with a Kids News take on politics. It's impossible not to outgrow these guys by your twenties, unless you're facing serious intellectual stultification. Yet these people will be branded with indelible proof of their taste-impaired youth long after they start cringing at phrases like "War sucks, let's party."

Why exactly is this on punknews? It's just one man's opinion of Anti-Flag. They don't post reviews from actual credible review sites, (90% at Absolutepunk.com) so why post an opinion article from a website that doesn't even take itself seriously?
I'm PRG/Poofah, and I ran http://peacepunk.net for nearly 5 years before being promoted to the official Anti-Flag website. It's nice to meet you all! I will be administering this forum alongside Anti-Flag and the A-F Records crew.

Man, he didn't understand the sarcasm in "War Sucks, Let's Party" at all.
History is not something that happens to people--it is the activity of people. Culture does not dictate human behavior--it is the sum of human behavior. Technological progree is not a force of nature, either.

I laughed at his statements when I read the line: "The group is trying to seduce the punk scene, either literally with the old sensitive-guy fuck-scam, or figuratively by parroting its prevailing views using the most artless, unsubtle language possible to make sure nothing's lost in the regurgitation."
Seriously? Wow.
That guy was full of nonsense. I liked how he tried to come off all macho-intelligent too.
What a joke.

There's images of love and war, and everything's here to explore

SomethingAwful is not to be taken seriously in the first place.

QFT
Their reason d'etre is to make fun of everything. They've even made fun of themselves on TV.

"Fuck The Flag" is a bit bolder. It might seem overapt, given the band's moniker, but Anti-Flag was careful to clarify in the liner notes to 1999's A New Kind of Army: "Anti-Flag does not mean anti-American. Anti-Flag means anti-war. Anti-Flag means the common people of the world are better off living in unity and peace." The group must have realized that using the less ambiguous, more precise name Pro-Peace would have outed them as fucking hippies

Wow the person who wrote that article is ignorant, especially about police brutality and the "fuck the kkk" song, that stuff is still around and he makes it seem like it's not.
You wave your flag, tell me I'm free then use the word fag to fuck with me
Go and wave your flag I'm free, fucking free!!
