What a ridiculous thing to say. It's not
planning to get raped anymore than carrying mace is
planning to get assaulted or having a gun in your home is
planning to be broken into. This is a completely illogical argument made by people who do not want to face reality. Rape is a common occurrence and a real threat, primarily to women. And it's a terrible reality to accept, but are you going to ignore it and hope it doesn't happen to you, or are you going to take measures to protect yourself (which go beyond the use of one device)?
It's something like one in five women in America will be raped in their life time.
