Feel free to suggest any questions that I should ask.   :)
I'm PRG/Poofah, and I ran http://peacepunk.net for nearly 5 years before being promoted to the official Anti-Flag website. It's nice to meet you all! I will be administering this forum alongside Anti-Flag and the A-F Records crew.

Our famous interviewer :)

Hmm, I saw a lot of the members said something like: "Progpagandhi doesn't want to play a show with A-F." So maybe you can ask them something like: "Why don't you want to.." Just a suggestion.

I guess life is just a popularity contest
Success, the ability to perform within a framework of obedience
Just ask the candy-coated Joy-Cam rock-bands
selling shoes for venture-capitalists,
silencing competing messages,
Rounding off the jagged edges

I think their answer may have something to do with that.
Go to work; send your kids to school;
follow fashion; act normal;
walk on the pavement; watch TV;
save for your old age; follow the law.
Repeat after me: I am free.

"What's the most interesting thing that someone's thrown at you?" is what I'd ask.

sounds awesome prg, whom do you do the interview for?

i read an interview in which they were asked about anti-flag and rise against. they were asked how they felt about being compared with bands like them and how they felt about major deals in general.

translation:

Speaking of values and ideas: PROPAGANDHI are for me at the same level as RISE AGAINST and ANTI-FLAG when we're talking about standards and attitude, however, those bands tried to reach as many people as possible with the help of major labels. Do you feel fine in this association and did you ever debate about a majordeal?

I understand you comparision in the way that we all come out of the D.I.Y.-punk-szene, but it doesn't work, because we can't keep up with their size and influence. The two other bands have simply a much bigger and broader audience. We have another philosophy: Instead of speaking to a broader audience with a more general message, we choose a more specific message to a smaller audience. I don't know exactly which way is better for getting a "progressive" message across. You can do it like once RAGE AGAINST THE MACHINE, like today ANTI-FLAG or RISE AGAINST and spread your message via commercial radio- and TV-stations - or like we try, to hold everything a bit smaller and easier. Our problem with major labels is that they're only bound to their shareholders - and that leads to that, that your contact person at the label, with whom you got along very well, gets fired from one day to the other and, depending on the market's situation, your band too. Whereas, if you work with real people like at G7, Smallman or Grand Hotel, with people whom you know, then you're not fired that easily, not even if your record doesn't sell very well. That's why major or not isn't a basic question for us, but the way of working and broadcasting of a major wears the tendency to revise a band and its concerns, so that when the message finally reaches the audience, it doesn't mean as much. But what i say seems to be pretty abstract and we neither have an absolute answer. And we need to say that as a band at an indie label you're delivered to the market structures too. In the end it's all about the money, and that goes in the case of CD or LP production, sale or commercial digital download always to the hands of some big concerns. And that makes the discussion even more abstract. And while a major deal is nothing for PROPAGANDHI, but i don't accuse any band that goes for such a deal. But that doesn't mean, that you shouldn't question how the band acts and decides.
