Education within prison systems should be more prioritised, rehabilitation begins when you actually have options other than to commit crime. As for those who are extremely resilient to being rehabilitated, solitary confinement sounds kosher. From a revolutionary perspective going with John's moral tricky doo-dah, assuming that this revolution is perfect and we don't have any dictatey psuedo-facist cult of personality shite going on, you lock them up and if they break out you shoot them. Violence should never be the answer unless you've got no other options
Solitary confinement has actually been proven to be more psychologically damaging to a person than simple imprisonment. I'm voting "yes"... but only if the individual cannot be rehabilitated. I do realize that prison is not a place for rehabilitation, it is a place for punishment... but honestly, I can say that some people do need to be taken out of society. I hate to always use this example, but take the case of my brother's murder. The people responsible aren't exactly "insane", so that rules out the institution. What do you suppose we do with these people? I do not stand behind the death penalty but I definitely do not want them walking off without any consequence (like they have been), free to do to others what they did to my brother.
