Battle In Seattle turned me onto this amazing band.  Fans of The Gaslight Anthem should appreciate them, as they sound similar in some ways.

Awesome.  Do you have a favorite song?

Favorite song is hard. Boxer is definitely my favorite album. Racing Like A Pro is probably my favorite song of theirs right now.

Okay, no. I can't believe you used The National and The Gaslight Anthem in the same sentence.

Karen is the ultimate song, although I like City Middle a lot too.

They're good, but I don't like them too much either. Too whimsical and moody for my tastes.
History is not something that happens to people--it is the activity of people. Culture does not dictate human behavior--it is the sum of human behavior. Technological progree is not a force of nature, either.

The Gaslight Anthem is by far the most overrated band in music today. That's that.

I can see why a lot of people wouldn't like this band, as I don't think I would have a couple years ago. I love music like this now.

Well, you've certainly proved that you have no soul. The Gaslight Anthem is insanely amazing and never gets old. That's that.

I'd probably say that TGA are my favourite band. Shame that I only know one other person who has even heard of them :(

I've been listening to bands like The Decemberists and The National a lot lately. Any other bands in this genre I should know about?

Plants and Animals are pretty decent. Same with Albert Hammond, Jr.

You might like Grizzly Bear assuming it's not something you already listen to.

Anyone else listened to the new album? I heard good things and bought it on vinyl and it is fantastic. They also had a pretty good performance on Letterman the other night....

I'm amazed.  That was studio quality work right there.  Awesome stuff!

Edit:  I take it back.  I just listened to the studio version, and this live version is even better.  I love how he breaks his voice at the end.
